Surf Art by LA Strong

It is impossible not to be inspired by the natural beauty of this coast. The mile upon mile of golden sands and line upon line of perfect wave makes the Cote d'Argent (silver coast) a special place to be.

As an artist ,I am fascinated by the changes of colour and form that the natural elements bring. The change can be sudden with a whip of the wind or a change of its direction, which has an immediate effect on the waves that continuously roll in.With the mountains so near this can bring spectacular skies and on perfect days when the wind is blowing offshore a mesmerising line upon line of hollow waves forming endless lines stacking up one after the other is enough to take your breath away.

I trained as a mosaicist but work in numerous mediums as I don't like to restrict myself to one medium,it can be me or the subject that dictates the medium to use but painting and drawing are the most special as it can be the starting point of a piece of work or it can be the finished piece.

This collection of surf art is from my latest collection of paintings and there are plenty more paintings inspired by the sea to come, I can imagine it would be possible to spend a lifetime studying the sea and the nature surrounding it.
